Easter

The kids don't really get to enjoy searching for eggs until after church on 9 a.m. years, but they do peek at what the Easter Bunny has left them. It is getting a lot less dramatic around here, but the girlies still enjoy it quite a bit. The rest of us just enjoy the fruits of their labors...we all love creme eggs! Here's a couple of pics of the girls and their stuffed animals and playing around like bunny rabbits.

Thanksgiving

So every year at Thanksgiving the school does a Turkey Trot. Kenzie was so excited to participate.

And being in Kindergarten, they got to dress up as Pilgrims and Indians and have a feast. I get sad realizing that these occasions go so quickly. I remember the other kids getting to do these kinds of things and I can't believe that I still get emotional when I am able to savor these moments in my children's lives.

Kenzie also had to decorate a turkey so that it would be able to hide and not get eaten. In FHE we all gave suggestions of what she should do with it. This is how it turned out:

Funny, Funny, Funny...

So this morning a lady was cruising our neighborhood wanting to ask questions. I'm assuming she is looking at the house on the corner. She was asking how many kids were on the block and if there were teenagers and dogs, like that one down the street that was wandering. Yeah, that would be MY dog that I was calling after in my pajamas. Impressive, huh? She seemed really nice so hopefully I didn't creep her out and scare her!!!

And Brooke took the girls down to have lunch with Gary and were sharing an ice cream bar. Well, Kenzie took a bite and then Brooke took a bite and they both had weird expressions on their faces. Brooke started grossing out as she realized that Kenzie had just lost her other tooth in the ice cream bar and it was now in her mouth. Way nasty, but hysterical!!! Gotta love those moments!!!

Kenzie lost her first tooth!

It was just hanging there for a couple of days and Gary was finally able to pull it out on Thurs. Kenzie was so afraid it was going to hurt that she told him to stop, but to her surprise it was already out.

The morning after:
The Tooth Fairy brought her a gold dollar! She should lose another in the next couple of days.

Playing Turtle

This is a common sight every morning after the girls get out of the shower:
I let them play turtle for a few minutes before they get dressed. Some days I would like to do the same, but I'm sure it just wouldn't look as cute, nor would their towels cover me like they do them. Cute little girlies. I just love them.

Kenzie's First Field Trip

Gary was able to go with Kenzie to Hee Haw Farms. I'm glad he has been able to fit these kind of things into his schedule because I think the kids will look back and really appreciate these fun times with their dad.

Sisters

A couple of weeks ago McKenzie mentioned that she wanted to get her ears pierced. So after Gary and Trevor left for Scout Camp on Monday we headed up to the mall and met Niki there. We had to wait a while because 3 sisters were getting theirs done. So we had plenty of time to pick out earrings. Dakota looked at them also and picked out blue flowers, while Kenzie picked out pink flowers. So typical of their personalities.
I was hesitant about doing Kodee's, but let her watch Kenzie to see what she thought. Kenzie's eyes welled up with tears after the first one and after the second cried for a minute. After a couple of minutes she said that they didn't hurt anymore.
She's glad she did it. As for Kodee, as soon as we said Kenzie was done, she said, "My turn." I thought that if she picked out the same ones she had decided on earlier that I guess her mind was made up. And yes she picked out the blue flowers again so we did hers also. No crying out of her.
We handed her a sucker when she was done and then she wanted to stay and watch the next girl get hers done as well. Kenzie is great about remembering to clean their ears 3 times each day. They are pretty cute together.

Nemo or Up???

Well, take your pick. Gary rented The Blind Side last night and we thought that we would watch it as a family. Only problem, one person in the family can really make the movie impossible to enjoy. Her choice is either Nemo or Up. Maybe because those are the only movies she can say, but she really does love them. Nemo is #1, but Up is a close 2nd. So here we are sitting in my bed watching Up while the rest of the family is watching The Blind Side downstairs. I will have to watch it later. What a sad life I really lead.

P.S. A couple of days ago McKenzie wanted to go and get the treasure chest out of Blake's Leprechaun trap that belongs to her Little People. So she sets out to the backyard and quickly comes back in. She had tears welling up in her eyes, so I asked what was wrong. She said she was scared and I asked her, "of what?", yes, she was afraid of the Leprechaun. I was in the middle of doing something, so I told her to make Kodee get it. Between the two of them, they finally came back with the treasure chest and I had a little chuckle watching Kenzie creep upon it and pointing at it so that Kodee would know what to get.

Kindergarten Registration

I registered Kenzie for Kindergarten last week. I remember sending Jordan off to school and I thought that was hard and then came Junior High and that was hard and then High School, but really nothing is as hard as college. It really doesn't get easier with each one.... well maybe for a couple of them!!!! But I realize that when they start kindergarten it is just a beginning that leads to college and leaving the house and that is what makes it so hard. I mean is it really going to be bad to only have one child home next year? I really am going to miss having my little helper around, but fortunately there's another to follow and she already knows how to get in my way....oops, I mean help.
